The fires go up across the lower field once the light drops, and the night runs ninety minutes from there: cold bottles at the gate, a live drum set working the crowd, and a central fire ring that everybody has drifted into by the end.
It borrows openly from midwinter fire festivals — there is a procession, it is loud, and around the hour mark the crowd stops behaving like an audience.
Eight to a booking, several hundred on the field. Standing on grass in the dark, so dress for it.
Before you arrive
Gates open thirty minutes before. Closed footwear only, no exceptions: the field is uneven and there are embers. Bring a coat you do not mind smelling of woodsmoke afterwards.
Things to consider
Loud sustained drumming and open flame throughout. Not suitable for anyone sensitive to noise or smoke, and we would not recommend it for under-8s. Under-16s must stay with an adult inside the fire ring.

Frequently asked
What happens if it rains?
The festival runs in rain. It is cancelled only for high wind or a fire-risk warning, and we make that call by early evening — you get a full refund or a transfer to the next night.
Is there seating?
No. This one is standing on uneven grass for the full ninety minutes. If that is a problem, tell us at booking and we will keep a chair at the edge of the ring for you.
Can I bring my own drinks?
No — two chilled bottles per guest are handed out at the gate and outside drink is not permitted on the field. There are vendor stalls if you want more.
How loud is it, really?
Loud, and sustained. Live drums for most of the ninety minutes. We keep ear protection at the gate for anyone who wants it, and there is a quieter perimeter away from the ring.
